Brief Summary:
Kaleidoscope is a fun packed, networking and informative weekend for Leaders and Rovers from across New South Wales. This weekend camp is to develop knowledge around certain elements of the program and create a great networking opportunity while ‘Choosing your Adventure’. You’ll spend the weekend sharing and learning new ideas, concepts and talking about experiences that will enhance your ability to deliver and support a fun-filled, exciting program, whilst catching up with old friends and making new ones.

Kaleidoscope ‘Choose Your Adventure’

Applications are now open for Kaleidoscope!

Purpose:      

The purpose of this camp is to develop and build knowledge around certain elements of the program and create a great networking opportunity while you can ‘Choose your Adventure’.

When:       7pm Friday 27 August to 12 noon Sunday 29 August 2021

What is Kaleidoscope?

Have you ever been to a Konara, Palaver, Pow-Wow or Summit? Then Kaleidoscope is for you. Kaleidoscope is a fun packed, networking and informative weekend.

You’ll spend the weekend sharing and learning new ideas, concepts and talking about experiences that will enhance your ability to deliver and support an adventurous, fun, challenging and inclusive program experience.

Who should go to Kaleidoscope?

Kaleidoscope is open to all Leaders and Rovers from across New South Wales.

What do I bring?

Accommodation:

Accommodation will be in tents. You will need to bring the following:

  • Tent (Participants will be sleeping in tents),

  • Sleeping mat or stretcher,

  • Pillow,

  • Sleeping bag, blankets, doona (as you prefer),

  • Camp chair (optional).

Catering:

This event is fully catered from Saturday morning to Sunday morning tea, you will need to bring:

  • Mess kit,

  • Plate, Bowl,

  • Cup, Mug,

  • Knife, Spoon, Fork,

  • Water bottle and

  • Tea towel.

Clothing:

You should wear your Scout Uniform on Saturday morning and for closing parade on Sunday. Ensure you bring warm clothes for night, a rain coat in case of rain and a day/back pack.

Themed outfit:

You are encouraged to bring along a themed costume, outfit or clothing to wear to dinner on Saturday night.

What should I expect?

You will have the opportunity to ‘Choose Your Adventure.’ There will be information to take away, new friends and contacts, and Yes, there will be a badge (and possibly give-a-ways)!

Program:

Closer to the event, you will be sent a link to complete a survey for you to choose the activities you would like to do. We will do our best to accommodate your selections depending on demand.

COVID-19 Considerations

We are excited to be running Kaleidoscope, the first State Major Event since COVID Lockdown and hope that you will join us for this weekend. However, as with all activities currently being planned for 2021 and into the future, we need to take into account the evolving situation with the COVID-19 Pandemic.

This means that there will be changes to how we run Kaleidoscope this year, up to and including having to cancel this event at short notice. Please regulary check back to this page where we will provide any updates on how COVID will affect our ability to run Kaleidoscope 2021. In the event that Kaleidoscope 2021 is Cancelled due to Flood, Fire, or COVID 19 Government Restrictions, an admin fee of $2.50 will be retained and all other funds refunded.
