Brief Summary:
Come along to try Standup Paddleboarding. This event is open to Venturers, Rovers and Leaders. We have the equipment, you just need the enthusiasm. We will be learning to paddle on Hen and Chicken Bay off Quarantine Reserve.
Additional Information

We will introduce you to the art of Standup Paddleboarding, from paddling as on a surfboard, kneeling to standing. We can play some games to test our skill and agility and if conditions are right, go on a short journey.

This activity is appropriate for participants with no experience.

SWASH will provide

  • Stand up paddleboards
  • Paddles
  • PFDs
  • Safety Equipment

You need to provide

  • Appropriate clothing for being in the water in a sun-safe manner e.g. rash top and water shorts,  
  • Enclosed water shoes (Crocs/slides/thongs are not appropriate) 
  • Hat (broad brim or bucket style preferred) 
  • Rain Jacket (for rain or wind)
  • Wetsuit (optional)
  • Personal first aid kit/medication
  • Sunscreen 
  • Change of clothes for home trip.
  • Towel
  • Drink/snacks

This is a water activity, and it is almost certain that participants will enter the water. Ensure that participants are wearing appropriate clothing/ swimwear. 

Activities are subject to suitable weather conditions. If for any reason the event is cancelled, you will be able to rebook or obtain a refund. If you are unable to attend after registering, you will not be entitled to a refund.
