Brief Summary:
Start 2026 by getting your foundation skills up to scratch. If your planning to do Scouting activities outside your hall in 2026, then this is a must attend event. No prerequisites for this event

For the Youth members

This weekend will give you an opportunity to get OAS progressions, Safe and Trained participant in some activites and a range of skills that could be prerequisites for many of the activites to be offered in 2026. 

Due to the nature of the activities this weekend is best suited to Scout age and up.

Youth Members pre-requisites:

1- OAS Stage 3 in core Skills or above

2- Aquatics Stage 2 or above

 3- Know how to ride a bike. 

On offer will be

  1. Canoeing skills 
  2. Basic water rescue skills
  3. Bushwalking and navigation skills
  4. Mountain Biking
  5. Drop Bear awareness

 

For the Adults and Leaders

Come along and assist in the running of some of these activites and start your journey toward guide qualifications. 

  1. Basic water Rescues - This is needed for Fishing, Canoeing / Kayaking and Canyoning activities
  2. Navigation skills - Needed for Bushwalking, Canyoning, XC skiing, Snow shoeing and Caving
  3. Cycling Skills - Needed to take your kids out for that fun ride.
  4. Flat Water Paddling Skills - Needed for to lead Flat water Canoeing and Kayaking.

 

For All participants

Saturday night will be catered for in the form of a large BBQ event. Select the dinner option if you want to have dinner provided. This will be a chance to network, meet Scouts and  Leaders from other groups and find out about Adventerous Activities and the qualification system.

As with all adventerous qualifications, turning up does not automaticly equate to a qualification but skill, attitude and possible previous experience will all contribute to attaining qualifications. You will however certainly leave the weekend with new skills and experience. Our aim will be to give you the best possible outcome in your training and qualification journey

Safe and Trained Participant qualifications

 

You will be assessed against a set criteria. No log book or workbook will be required.

VET modules

Download the applicable workbooks from the registration page and complete them over the weekend. Have a Guide sign it for you on the weekend. You will then have to email the appropriate workbook to traning at state office.
