Brief Summary:
This entry-level open water diver qualification will equip you with the core skills to dive to a maximum of 18 metres in open water
Additional Information

The SDI Open Water Scuba Diver Course will cover all of the necessary skills and knowledge for open water scuba diving, including:
•The aquatic environment: vision, light, sound, heat loss, tides, currents, waves, surge, etc.
•Physics and physiology: buoyancy, pressure, air spaces, breathing compressed air, mixed gases, etc.
•Dive equipment selection, assembly, use and maintenance
•Dive planning
•Basic scuba skills including mask and regulator skills, swimming underwater, buoyancy control, basic rescue techniques, and emergency procedures

This course is targetted for Scouts (age 11.5 or older), Venturers and Rovers 

The course consists of 3 elements

Online learning modules to be completed before 12 January

Pool Session - to be held at Lane Cove Aquatic Centre on 12 January

Open Water Sessions to be held at ocean venues on 13 and 14 January

There are some personal items that are not included – these are boots, mask, fins and snorkel. If you do not have these items/cannot borrow, Frog Dive does sell them and charges $50 for boots and $65 for the mask/fins/snorkel. You may be able to get neoprene boots and mask/fins/snorkel from other locations

You will be required to complete a medical declaration and,, depending on the answers provided, may need to undertake a medical. If needed, please complete the medical within 1 week - if found unable to undertake the training , then wothin the 1 week period will be able to get a full refund

Should you have your own Scuba equipment ( BC, Regulators, compouter, wetsuit, cylinder)  available and wish to use this for the course, .please contact the organiser - a reduced rate of $190 is offered
