Noonameena Scout Camp has reopened so we are planning a chilled weekend by the beach with a focus on fishing, a bonfire or 2, and good food, including local seafood.
There will be plenty of fishing sessions on the beach and elsewhere and time to explore the coast under the guidance of 1st Cobargo's own Hunter and Gatherer, Terry Leiper. Terry will be assisted by Tim the (Bungendore) Venturer. Tim's claim to fame was packing a rod and reel in his hiking bag and attemping some fishing at Dragonskin 2025. That's committment Tim!
There will be a "Catch of the Camp" prize donated by Trapman Australia (find him on fb, insta and www.trapmanaustralia.com.au)
The camp is for 1st and 2nd Cobargo Vennies and friends, including friendly, almost local, Rovers we know. If it all comes together this year we will look at running a bigger camp next year at a different time of the year with an option for deep sea charter fishing.
Don't want to fish all day? no problem. We have an optional whale watching cruise and some seafood cooking sessions. Sitting in the sun on the beach all day is also possible.
Whale watching will be arranged with a local operator, cost tba but use this as a guide: https://www.sapphirecoastaladventures.com.au/merimbula-whale-watching-adventure
Camp cost includes camp fee, bait and all meals from breakfast Saturday to lunch Sunday. Non seafood eaters will also be catered for.
Bring the usual camping gear, fishing tackle (if you have it) and appropriate clothing. No swimming unfortunately - the beach is unpatrolled and we dont have the right rescue quals. Plus the water will be very, very cold.
Once you have submitted your registration, an invoice (summary sheet) will be generated with instructions on how to pay for this event. The following payment options will be available to you:
Credit/Debit Card and EFT
