Prerequisites: OAS bushwalking and camping 3 + some nights camping + have practiced carrying an overnight pack + developing knowledge of bush toileting and hygiene + developing knowledge of water purification.
Please note we are reaching out for Registered Adult Helpers, Rovers, Adults Leaders and Fellowship to support on these days. All adults on site must be registered with Scouts NSW. Ideally 2 or more adult members to join with Tristan and a minimum of 5 youth to proceed.
Yarramalong to Somersby via Archers and Palm Grove 26.7 km Grade 4 (hard grade) Wildwalks, Duration 2 1/2 days
Comfortable Autumn temperatures and reduced wildfire fire risk.
Scenic rural landscapes of the Great North Walk north of Somersby. Undulating terrain, some ascents and descents, small creek crossings, mix of walking track, rural roads and firetrail.
Aim to start Yarramalong 9 am/9:30 am, we may reach out for support for a carpool from Wyong Station approx 19 km away. We can also look into a maxi taxi/mini bus transfer if we are short on seats.

Mon 6 Apr Palm Grove campsite to Somersby Public School 4.76 km (finish mid morning)
**Please note early start on Monday 5 am rise, 6 am start. Walk into Somersby to catch the 8:59 am bus from Somersby PS back to Gosford Station. Back in Gosford 9:45 am and option to catch train back towards Epping, Strathfield and Central.**
Water can be refilled from creeks on the route, either purification tablets or a water filter needed.
Bush toileting does apply to this section.
