Brief Summary:
14km day hike along the Great North Walk between Cowan and Brooklyn via Jerusalem Bay. Starting at Kellyville Metro participants will make their way by train to the start point at Cowan. Enjoy the Jerusalem Bay Track, Jerusalem Bay, the beautiful views over the Hawkesbury River and Brooklyn Dam. Participants will then catch the train back from Brooklyn, finishing back at Kellyville Station. This is a OAS Stage 3 and above level hike with leader supervision. You will need a good level of fitness because there is some elevation. If you are unsure please check with your leader.
Additional Information

Participants will meet at Kellyvilel Station and travel to Cowan Station. From there we will head along the Jersusalem Bay Track enjoying the lovely Jerusalem Bay, the scenic views over the water, circumnavigate Brooklyn Dam and arrive at Brooklyn Station. The hike is about 14km.

The agenda for the day is:

7:30 am – Meet at Kellyville Metro  Station

9 am – Arrive at Cowan Train Station

9:10 am – Risk, emergency plan and hike briefing

12:30 pm – Lunch

3:00 pm – Arrive at Brooklyn Train Station

3:15 pm – Review of activity (on train)

4:30 pm – Arrive at Kellyville Metro Station

What to bring:

  • Opal Card - IMPORTANT
  • Sturdy Bag
  • 3L of water (unsure if there are fill up points)
  • First Aid Kit
  • Wide brim hat
  • Sturdy and comfortable shoes
  • Suitable clothing
  • Rain coat
  • Lunch and high energy munchies (no nuts)
  • Insect repellent
  • Sun cream
  • Light fleece depending on temperature (up to participant to decide to bring)
  • Headtorch

Water sources may not available so bring water for the whole day. (Activity Leader will have a water filter in case a participant runs out of water) No food will be provided. Participants are to provide their own meals.
