Parramatta District ANZAC Day March & Dawn Service

Description:

All Joeys, Cubs, Scouts, Venturers, Rovers and Leaders are welcome to attend. Attendance at the ANZAC Day March & Dawn Service is highly encouraged, and it goes towards the "Their Service - Our Heritage" badge.

The ANZAC Day March commences in Macquarie Street, adjacent to Club Parramatta (previously the Parramatta RSL Club). Members are required to arrive by 3:45am to allow the various participants to be organised and ready to commence at 4am.

Members who do not want to participate in the ANZAC Day March can go directly to the ANZAC Day Dawn Service, which will commence at approximately 4:30am at the Parramatta War Memorial in Prince Alfred Square. The Dawn Service normally takes about 45-50 minutes, depending on the guest speaker and the number of people laying wreaths.

Members participating in the ANZAC Day March will return to the start point (adjacent to Club Parramatta).

Meeting location:

We will be meeting adjacent to the entrance to the Club Parramatta car park (near 2 Macquarie Street, Parramatta).

Wear:

Full and correct Scout uniform, which means:-

• Scout shirt and scarf (neatly rolled)
• Stone or beige pants/skirt
• Scout belt or black belt
• Black shoes (e.g. school shoes)

It may be cold so recommend that Scouts also wear thermals under their uniform unless they have a Scout jacket (i.e. non-Scout jackets should not be worn over the uniform for this event).
