The Cooks River Cycleway is a delight: flat, beautiful, and peppered with playgrounds along the way. A lot of work has been done to improve the environment of what was once Australia’s most polluted river. This is a scenic and pleasant ride along the mangroves and parklands.
We will be riding from Tempe (Gough Whitlam Park, Earlwood) along the cycle path to Ewan Park at Hurlstone Park and then returning. There are plenty of opportunities to stop along the way: there is no hurry on this ride. There is generally a coffee cart at Ewan Park for those who like a mid-ride treat.
The ride will be approximately 8km long (if we make it all the way to Ewan Park). You can view the route here: https://www.google.com/maps/d/u/0/edit?mid=1TdQPjEMdDu6mkfvazTf3fgIAMGfuWwY&usp=sharing
This is a great ride for novices to those more experienced but enjoy a really fun pootle along a very scenic path. This is great for leaders looking to gain their Trained Participant qualifications.
