Day 2 - Building Archery Coaching Skills
- Coaching youth in aiming, shooting, string walking.
- Shooting groups, aiming off, what to do in wind.
- Fixing simple archer problems.
- Setting & Tying nocking points.
- Fixing more advanced archer problems.
- Checking gear before use. Looking after gear. Keeping a gear log if you own archery equipment
- Keeping an archers diary and log book.
- Archery Practice and some coaching practice where participants coach each other in correcting problems.
- Walk through range setup for Come and Try Archery sessions (which is basically what Scouts do at Scout Events – large numbers, basic safety, hit the target, pull the arrows, move on to next activity).
- Hazard identification, risk assessment and lesson/management plans for an event archery session.
